Finalize selection of next proposed project for Arlington County funds

In the November 16 Civic Association meeting, the Tara-Leeway Heights board will discuss and vote on projects to be advanced to the County on as the Civic Association’s next proposal to be funded under Arlington County Neighborhood Conservation funding (Spring 2010 round).   Attached to this post please find a list of projects compiled by the Board for consideration in its October meeting, which the board narrowed to three finalists:

  • Combination of #s 3,5, and 6, under a common proposal to improve safety on Patrick Henry Drive
  • Continuation of work on Big Walnut Park, specifically the upper portion
  • Convert part of 22nd St near Lexington to a pedestrian-safe greenway.  Also attached to this post is a proposal by resident Joe David Berg detailing plans for this development project.

In its November 16 meeting, the Board will finalize the selection of one proposal to go forward as the CA’s #1 project for funding in the next funding round.   Community participation is welcome.

The meeting will be held Monday, 16 November at 7:00 in in the Langston Community Center at the corner of Culpepper St and Lee Highway.
