Environmental Collection and Recycling Event (E-CARE)

On Saturday, October 3, Arlington County’s Department of Environmental Services will sponsor an Environmental Collection and Recycling Event (E-CARE).   Residents may turn in hazardous materials, as well as recycle items such as bicycles, small metal items, shoes, clothes, computer equipment, eyeglasses, microwaves, and medical equipment (wheel chairs, walkers, crutches, ankle braces, etc.).   Other items of interest include books, CDs, DVDs, as well as shoes, clothing, linens, and baby strollers.

Computer monitors will be accepted for  fee of $15 per item; televisions will be accepted for a fee of $20 per item (no wooden consoles).  Compost bins will be for sale ($17 each) on a first-come-first-served basis.

E-CARE will take place at Thomas Jefferson Middle School (west parking lot), 125 S. Old Glebe Road from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, rain or shine.  The permanent Household Haz-Mat facility on South Glebe Road will not be open on October 3.
