Mulitple Residential Burglaries
July 22nd, 2009 Posted in NewsFrom Roger Estes, Detective with Arlington Police: I’m
investigating a recent series of residential burglaries which are committed during night time hours. There have been 5 in our neighborhood within about the past 10 days or so. The m.o. is bad guy has entered through an unlocked
back door every time except once. In that instance he climbed over a 2nd floor balcony of a townhouse and entered an unlocked patio door. All but one have taken place between 0200 – 0800 hours. The other one took place between 1800 – 2345 hours.
Taken in the evening one was quality gold jewelry. Also taken in others have been blackberrys, a laptop, wallets, purses, credit cards, cash…and two vehicles. It appears the subject enters a door, steals what he can from that same room the door is in, then leaves. No vehicles have been recovered.
There are no lookouts at this time. I have three thoughts on this. (1) Lock ALL of your house before bedtime. (2) Lock ALL of your cars before bedtime. (3) Call the police if you see anyone in your yard, your neighbor’s yard, or in your house or your neighbor’s house. The phone in these instances is 911. It’s an emergency when folks are breaking into folks’ homes, in the night time, when the residents are there.
