Big Walnut Park Concept Plan Approved

At the May 19th civic association meeting, Arlington County Staff presented the neighborhood with the concept plan for Big Walnut Park, a proposed NCAC project submitted by the board for consideration for funding (click her for  Concept Plan – Big Walnut).  The civic association voted to go forward to the NCAC’s spring funding session with a requet to fund the current concept plan given that the following adjustments can be made once funding is received:

• Look at the possibility of ading tot swings by reducing the size of the school-age climber
• Make the play areas as big as possible and include space for expansion and play equipment in the future

The concept plan will be submitted for the NCAC spring funding session on June 12, 2008.  Staff will inform the community of the outcome of the funding session and the next steps to take after June 12.
