Results from Accessory Dwelling Survey
May 21st, 2008 Posted in NewsThe results from the neighborhood survey were reviewed and discussed at the recent civic association meeting held on May 19th (click here to download the survey results). The results from the survey as well as the comments reflect a strong sentiment on a part of our neighborhood against the recommendations in the original Accessory Dwelling report.
Arlington County Staff over the past several months have received feedback from the community and have prepared a set of recommendations that are different from the original report. Our survey does not reflect those changes and residents are encouraged to view those updates in order to better understand the County Staff’s current position (click here for latest information from Arlington County).
As a result of our meeting on May 19th, the Tara-Leeway Heights Civic Association will send a letter to the Planning Commission, Housing Commission, County Manager, and the County Board communicating the results of our survey and asking that the County delay any actions regarding Accessory Dwellings until the revised recommendations are better communicated to the residents and the near term and far term implications of accessory dwellings are better understood.
