Updated Information on Area Burglaries

From the Arlington County Police Department:

4700 block N. 38th St. Between 0930 hrs and 1830 hrs on 10/06/06, someone entered a home by breaking a basement window and took a large amount of jewelry.

2800 block N. Lexington St. At 12:00 noon on 10/10/06, someone entered the home by breaking a ground floor window on the side of the house. In this case a resident was home sleeping and heard banging on the front door. Then the resident heard banging on a window located on the side of the house. The resident then heard the suspect in the home and hid in the bedroom. The resident observed the suspect steeling jewelry then the resident eventually fled the home to call police. The following is a description of the suspect that was provided to the police. The suspect was described as a stocky build Hispanic looking male wearing black pants and a black long sleeve shirt that looked something like a uniform or scrubs. The suspect’s hair was black and was set in a corn row hair style that had a 2 inch ponytail. The suspect also had a white hair tie or headband on his head. When the resident fled the home the suspect yelled at her in what was perceived as a Hispanic accent.

Please pass this information on to your community and continue to remain vigilant. As always, report suspicious persons to the police immediately and secure your valuables.
