Reed School/Westover Library construction work session
July 7th, 2006 Posted in NewsThere will be a work session on the Reed School/Westover library planned construction with the School Board and County Board on July 13, 2006 at 7:00P. This meeting will set the tone for future deliberations on this project. All attendees will have a complete opportunity to participate and I hope you will be able to attend. I suggest that you let your neighbors know of this meeting and suggest that they attend. Attendance, unity of purpose and active participation make a difference. This is the communities’ one best chance to have their issues brought forward and considered.
Please also note that the School Board approved funding for its part of the project out of operating funds not bond funds. At the School Board meeting, Dave Foster made the point that although the funding was from current revenues vice a bond, the commitment to build the project was the same as if the funding was from a bond. I don’t see a concern here, but then you may know something that I do not.
In a Memorandum of Understanding approved last month, the County Board committed to funding the library portion of the project also out of operating funds.
