Reed/Westover Design Concepts

June 21st, 2006 Posted in News

At Tuesday’s Reed School Building Level Planning Committee (BLPC) meeting, the architects presented these design concepts (PDF)
for the Arlington Public Schools (APS) Reed site construction which is
primarily to construct a facility to house day care for APS staff, and
the new Westover library.

Please take a look at these design
concepts. We need your participation and ideas. The next BLPC meeting
is Tuesday, June 27. Only a week away. Then, the BLPC and interested
members of the public meet with the School Board and County Board on
July 15 to outline issues. Your comments can influence what is
constructed and how it is constructed.

You can attend either of
the upcoming meetings to personally offer your thoughts or you can
email them to Bill Braswell at Braswell@1967.usna.com. As the civic
association rep to the BLPC, I will see that the BLPC is appraised of
your ideas, if you can not present them personally. I suggest that we
find some consensus of ideas ahead of these meetings so we can be
unified in our approach to the design.
